Second CDRmare General Assembly at the Ozeaneum in Stralsund

From 31 January to 2 February, experts from a total of 22 research institutions, authorities and companies met for the 2nd General Assembly at the Ozeaneum in Stralsund to take stock of the first CDRmare funding phase. Around 160 scientists and guests were present on site, 50 participants used the possibility of online participation. All consortia have successfully started their practical work – research cruises and near-shore sampling campaigns in Germany and abroad, as well as technology development for monitoring and initial modelling studies to extrapolate results to larger regions. In addition to in-depths discussions on the achievements of the research mission so far, the meeting served to advance planning for a possible second funding period, which is scheduled to begin in summer 2024.

In the run-up to the annual conference, an interdisciplinary communication workshop was held for early career scientists, where participants re-enacted a fictional CDRmare press conference and podcast interviews.
