After the ceremony, the guests toured the new building to learn about current research topics at GEOMAR. The CDRmare research mission is coordinated by GEOMAR. It was one of the research programmes invited to present their work today. CDRmare co-speaker Prof Andreas Oschlies welcomed the delegation and explained ongoing research work and initial results, together with Prof Klaus Wallmann, coordinator of the CDRmare research consortium on CO2 storage in the deep subsurface of the German North Sea, and Dr. Nadine Mengis, scientific coordinator of the 10 Mt CO2 removal challenge. Those three were supported by many colleagues who provided insights into the various CDRmare topics with illustrative experimental setups and a wide range of information material.
