A pioneer out of passion – CDRmare Science Story
The next CDRmare Science Story “A pioneer by conviction – carbon dioxide storage deep under the sea” by the GEOSTOR network (coordinated at GEOMAR) has been published! (in German only)
Although the course has been set at international level, legal hurdles in Germany have so far prevented the storage of captured carbon dioxide deep under the seabed of the German North and Baltic Seas. Legal scholar Lennart Westmark (University of Hamburg) has therefore taken on the task of developing legal solutions within the CDRmare research consortium GEOSTOR. His aim is to provide more clarity and legal certainty for the case that politicians give the go-ahead for marine underground CO2 storage projects in German seas.
